Linkedin is the only tool I use for marketing outreach. And IT WORKS, if you do it right. Here’s how:
⭐️ First of all, thanks to all of the engineering/manufacturing community on Linkedin– you all have just helped me reach 1,000 followers. This may be a small step, but as I’ve only been at this actively for 3 months, I think it’s worth celebrating!
What I’ve Learned – building a manufacturing business on linkedin
1. Producing interesting, helpful content benefits all parties. I’ve thought deeper about my work, explored more new materials than ever before in my career, and defined my business in the process. I highly recommend taking the time to do this. Just get started with sharing something that you’re working on! The support you’ll find is great to see & experience.
2. I’ve made valuable connections, learned about other business owners’ journeys, and been able to help others who are earlier on in theirs. There is a wealth of knowledge waiting to be tapped into for anyone who digs in. People are relational, and we thrive when we help others & let them help us.
3. I’ve connected with people who are genuinely interested in doing business. “How can I help you achieve the goal of your project? Engineering support, a design from scratch, a batch of 2,000 3D printed parts that will sidestep the injection molding expenses you’re trying to avoid?” Linkedin has helped me find and connect with the people who are looking for my services.
4. Yes, it takes time. And you have to be consistent. I’ve learned a lot from Tommy Clark and his B2B principles for Linkedin. If there’s one thing he stresses the most, it’s BEING CONSISTENT. Don’t give up, keep building relationships that will not only enhance your business growth but your life as well. You never know who you may meet and the impact you may have in their story.
